Hello! I have worked in and around words for over 20 years as a writer and editor. I live in Castlemaine in regional Victoria.

My latest novel ALMOST A MIRROR has just been shortlisted for the Penguin Literary Prize 2019. It will be published by Transit Lounge in April 2020. It’s set around the early 80s music Crystal Ballroom scene in Melbourne, the twilight world of Nick Cave and the Boys Next Door.

I’ve recently completed a PhD in creative writing at the University of Canberra.

My first novel just_a_girl was published by UWA Publishing in 2013.

As a freelance writer, editor and digital communications specialist for a range of clients, I have worked on pretty much every type of content you can imagine — annual reports, brochures, catalogues, e-newsletters, websites, grant assessments, marketing materials, social media strategies, information handouts, course materials, student theses, novel manuscripts, poetry.

My articles have been published in The Saturday Paper, The Monthly, Good Weekend, Australian, Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Peppermint Magazine, ABC Arts Online, Neighbourhood, Overland, Metro Magazine, Empire, Screen EducationIsland Magazine and RealTime.

I have been the editor of Newswrite, the Writing NSW magazine for aspiring and established writers, for nearly a decade, along with taking the helm at the ASA’s Australian Author magazine.

I’ve blogged on all my passions at Wild Colonial Girl and, while it’s taken a bit of a hiatus during the PhD, it’s about to gear up again.

When I’m not hovering over the computer, you can find me dancing as part of Lady Fun Times: Crotch of Dancers.
